We use Port Lighting out of Seabrook. They do good work, but are often very busy, so you have to stay on top of them to keep them focused on your project.

We have used Sallese for installation in the past, but they also do repairs. I can’t really vouch for their repair service, but have had good experiences with them on installations.

          Hi George,

We have cameras covering our grounds at all three of our schools. They are not monitored on a regular basis, but are used as a deterrent and to investigate after-the fact.

We recently created a Wednesday through Sunday position at Newburyport High School because the custodial staff was actually complaining about too much overtime due to the extremely high usage of the building. It took some negotiating to refine the parameters of the position because the union wanted to make sure we didn’t eliminate too much overtime. But overall it has worked out very well.

We stopped doing regular building checks awhile back because most all of our major systems are monitored one way or another and we get alerts when there is an issue, plus due to the heavy building use we often have someone in each of the buildings on weekends working some sort of event. The only time I send someone in to do building checks is during extreme weather events, and usually that is our Head of Maintenance.

Our increase in Newburyport for FY18 is about $500 or 18%. This was only put in place after I was updated on and agreed to move forward with an upgrade to their newer MaintenanceEssentials Pro platform which is supposed to give us better reporting capabilities and other improved features.

Our custodians are paid directly out of the athletic budget for athletic events.

                  Joe,
I use Quality Fire Protection out of Haverhill. I used him for the past 2 years, Fire Departments around here also use him. Bob is the owner and he is at 978-521-8889
