In reply to: Temporary Lock Devices
June 13, 2023 at 8:34 am #41514It is sad we have to even think of this as part of every day. We had looked at similar products and my concern was around grabbing the locking mechanism and putting it in while they are in a crisis situation. The other issue was how do you get in if a student puts it in there, In speaking with D&D lock, their suggestion was replacing the current door knobs with a class 1, Marks survivor series lever lock sets. It is definitely more money but it is the push of a button and allows key access if the door is locked. Our School Department was applying for a grant to offset some of the cost. I believe this lockset and cylinder are aprox $275 – $300 per door. Our carpenters can install and maintain these as well.

February 16, 2023 at 9:39 am #40991Hi Susan
I was speaking with the owner at Burnell Controls and they have a product that he states will work for this application. We have not done this yet. We have 4 systems in 5 of our buildings.
Thanks, Dennis

May 11, 2022 at 9:10 am #40187We have used Enterprise for 3 complete boiler rooms including boilers, pumps and vfd’s. They were very professional and organized. They met all time lines. I would definitely use them again in the future.

March 12, 2021 at 7:28 am #38866In Wilmington we have a couple of different programs throughout the town. In all of these programs there are pros and cons but Metasys for us has the most to offer.
We use Johnson Metasys for the High School this is a very user friendly interface as there are a lot of points you can trouble shoot and adjust from the computer. This is supported from Howse Corporation in North Reading.
We also have Tridium Jace at our Public safety building this is OK it does not allow as many user adjustments as Metasys but is pretty good. We have this supported by Burnell Controls.
If I had my choice we would haveMetasys in every building going forward.
Delta system for boilers – This is really just a window in to the boiler controls it is almost useless and is very difficult to get support and service as RP O’Connell appears to be the only company around to service it. Given the opportunity I am not sure I would ever use it again.

December 13, 2019 at 7:41 am #36490About 6 years ago we had to replace one boiler due to failure and we installed a weil mclain duel fuel to get by. We then went out to bid and installed two Camus boilers to replace the other old boiler. We kept the wiel mclain as a back up, we run the Camus boilers daily to heat the building. Two days a month the 9th and 18th the BMS has the Weil Mclain heat the building so that it is not just sitting dormant and rotting away. If the two Camus were to fail to run the back up automatically will run. It has worked out pretty good so far.

September 22, 2017 at 11:02 am #32749We did 2 boiler room replacements and ended up with RP O’Connell and a Delta system. All changes for us need RP O’Connell to write the code as it is not a GUI interface. It is more of a window in then a user friendly Building Automation system for us. We have Johnson Metasys in one building and Tridium Niagra in another both those systems give you the ability to trouble shoot from your desk and see and control many many points, I like both of these systems a lot more. I believe there is only one other company in the area that can work on Delta systems Alberio Energy (they may have been sold). I have found P O’Connell a little slow on response when I have had an issue in the past. I hope this helps.

June 5, 2017 at 2:36 pm #32490We have used them for the chemical treatment of the cooling towers of our High school for the past two years. I deal with Dave Manelli, they have been responsive and we have not had any issues with them.
