In reply to: Vape Detectors
July 21, 2023 at 6:58 am #41600We have installed multiple Vape detectors in bathrooms, they work very well. They are monitored by the administration by notifications on their cell phones. We tried multiple mounting location in each restroom and determined they are pretty effective. The system are so accurate they can determine what is being vaped, if its nicotine or it contains THC. The con is it has reduced the vaping in the bathrooms, but they have moved to other locations they catch on pretty quickly.

In reply to: Building Coverage?
May 10, 2023 at 8:25 am #41400When ever the building is open for an event we have a custodian working. The occupancy number or the type of event can change the number on duty, it’s our call.
If custodial staff is working normal hours and there is a practice or a rehearsal in the building we don’t bring staff in for OT.
The only time there is no charge is if an approved staff member with clearance opens up to enter the building for a short period.
All outside groups not school related we bring in staff for OT.
It is our call when OT happens, if you’d like to discuss feel free to give me a call.

March 22, 2023 at 10:50 am #41136Mike,
We supply uniforms, pants and shirts with the Town seal that must be worn at all times. We provide $140 for a safety shoe once a year if needed. They are allowed to buy their own shirts as long as it has the Town seal on it, they must wear the pants.

In reply to: maintenance workers on 2nd shift
September 2, 2021 at 7:18 am #39378Hi Mike,
Wilmington has a 2nd shift Plumber, Electrician and Carpenter along with a night Foremen and custodial staff. It allows us to get the work completed with inhouse staff while the buildings are available. We don’t have to deal with staff issues about noise or smells and we complete a lot more work.
