      Hi Bob

I have been using Simplex – Primex wireless clock system, battery operated.  I have found it to work really well for us.  I might have one or two clocks not adjust to a time change, I just move the clock to a window for a night.  Have this in my 4 old schools.

I learned a long time ago that what helps me is to not live in the district I work for.  I have a 30 – 40 minute commute this gives me time to decompress from work going home and gives me a chance to organize my day while driving in.  That helps me to get work out of my head – do I still have some nights thinking of work, I do.  Real emergencies happen off hours and I can make it in within 25 – 30 minutes.  I live far enough away no ones expects me to respond for non emergency problems.  I have call back list for all schools for alarms, police and fire and I am number 5 at each school, I don’t get many calls.  Come to meetings and the Fall conference and talk to us who have been doing this and you will get great advice on procurement, there are tools out there that can be used to make it easier.   We are expected to have schools that never breakdown or have problems and so many times our hands are tied and some times behind our backs.

        Hang in there

          Hi Steve

I had a musty odor in one classroom and we couldn’t figure it out.  We solved it; the issue was the PTO year after year added mulch to the flower bed outside this room and they covered the weep holes.  We cleared the weep holes and the odor went a way.

          Good luck, Dave

Two months ago I received a 20,000 fine for a lift. I filed an appeal which was rejected for being untimely. I sent a letter asking for more information. I was informed the violation was from 2014. I gave all the information to my State Rep’s office who is trying to straighten this out.
            Good luck

                Hi Sandra
I am also salary. No compensation for snow, night meetings, weekend work or anything else. I will cut out early on some days here and there. They still get more then 40 from me each week. I will not plow as you will be at a school for sometime. I will jump in our sander as that is a quick drive through each school as I drive around the district keeping a eye on all schools.
