Hello.
In Shrewsbury we are opening fields under the Phase II guidance for youth sports. We are allowing exsiting sports groups to run practices in group of ten provided they have sent us their protocol on how to clean shared equipment and stay in groups of ten.
We have one field that has town run restrooms which we are cleaning daily. For other fields the groups will need to secure their own portable restroom and pay to have it cleaned daily.
It’s up to the groups to follow the state guidelines for youth sports administratrors.
That being said we still have our high school athletic complex closed. Only parks and other schools will open.

In Shrewsbury the Facilities Dept. is a ” town” dept. not a school function.
The Custodians report to a custodial supervisor. We do work with the principals at the schools, but the custodians do not report to them.

In Shrewsbury we have School resource officers assigned to the schools. The work and are trained by the police department.

The Town of Shrewsbury has recently created a Public Facilities Department. The town combined Parks,Recreation and Cemetery Department and the Public Buildings Department. We are organized within the DPW but still operate with separate parks and buildings budgets.
