Anyone out there have dual fuel burners? Have you decided whether or not to burn gas this year due to the cost of fuel oil? I’d love some input and/or backup information as to the pros and cons. Thanks

          Hi,

We locked in a favorable gas contract two years ago for Gas. Pricing for the fuel is much less on a BTU basis than #2 oil. I ran my three dual fuel buildings on gas-only last year & again this year. For the first time in 25 years – there were NO need for call-in or emergency service during the heating season. And this year’s clean, tune and start-up went very well, too. Joe is correct, gas is favorable now.

#2 oil and gas came close to being equal per therm last year. This year will be the first I can remember that gas will be cheaper. I have two dual fuel buildings and will burn gas. I will now attempt to get a deal like Joe’s.
