Hi Steve,
I use a foam soap from M.D.Stetson that has been much more cost effective than commercial brands.
I started in my Elementary Schools and now am moving forward with District wide. I’ve had very positive feedback from both teaching and custodial staff. Kids are washing their hands and custodians don’t have to fight with the pink floor puddle every night.
Initial startup at Elementaries was rough. Foam soap fights, Abe Lincoln beards, etc. After novalty wore off no issues.
Hope this helps. If you want a field trip I can show you what we have,

Steve,
We are using GoJo Foam Soap and Purell Hand Sanitizer. Now we are in the process of changing from regular foam soap dispenser to automatic dispensers. The dispenser were given to us. Works GREAT! No more drips on the floor!

Switched to foam soap 3 years ago and haven’t looked back. Staff loved it. Elementary schools go through a novelty phase at first.

We looked at this last year and we actually tested some in a middle school. The cost analysis shows there is no cost benefit to us in this change. There was one benefit-the soap does not drip on the floor.
We decided to stay with the status quo. It was not worth the effort to change and again be locked into one vendor/one product.

Steve,
We’ve switched to the foaming soap and have had mixed results. Depending upon which age group you address you can count on the younger (k to 2) and the older (High School) to be somewhat more responsible with the use. It’s the 3 to gr 8 group that is horrible. Instead of liquid soap on the floor we now have piles of foaming soap. Also the dispensors for each are a nightmare for vandalism. We have cut back on the overall 100% turnover to the foaming and restrict it by grades and teacher’s lavoratories. I had anticipated a greater savings even though the cost per unit was higher, but the vandalism just kicked the hell out of the notion.
